The choices of vacation destinations within Colorado can be a bit overwhelming. Most people coming to vacation in Colorado have heard of Breckenridge and Vail, but there are many other small towns that offer a fun and unique experience.

This area is referred to as the “Banana Belt” due to the mild winters and many days of sunshine each year. If you’re a fan of whitewater rafting this is where to be. Whether it is your first time or you are an experienced rafter, there is an option along the Arkansas River for you. The Browns Canyon section is one of the most rafted sections on the Arkansas and offers views of large granite walls and beautiful rock formations! Don't forget to stop in at Brown Dog Coffee Company before you head out on the water.

A stroll along Main Street offers plenty of shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to check out Tommyknocker Brewery and Pub to try one of their craft beers. If beer is not for you they also have a variety of craft soda! If you're looking for some adventure and you're not afraid of heights, try zip lining. AVA's outpost in Idaho Springs offers a cliffside zip line and aerial tour as well as a starlight zip line adventure!
