What does AVA provide?
AVA provides helmets, life jackets, and paddles on all river trips. AVA also provides wetsuits and paddle jackets FREE OF CHARGE if the weather warrants their use. We do not provide footwear for rent or use, although we do sell water shoes in our retail shop. On overnight trips AVA will provide dry bags and tents. Sleeping bags and pads are available for rent.

What should I bring?
Here is a list of things to consider bringing on a river trip in a high alpine environment:

Day Trip
Quick drying swim suit/shorts, Hat or visor
Shoes that are secure on your feet (tennis shoes, watershoes, or sports sandals)
Sunglasses w/ strap, sunscreen & lip protection
Water bottle, Money (souvenirs & Guide Gratuity)

Overnight Trip
Extra shoes, warm jacket
Wool hat, change of clothes
Raincoat, toiletries
Flashlight, personal liquor/soda (camp only)
Fishing gear, camp toys (Frisbee, cards, etc)
Plastic bags (wet clothes)

Is a wetsuit necessary?
If you get cold easily, the weather looks like rain or the water is high wetsuits are recommended.

Do you have equipment for rent?
We provide all of our equipment free of charge. Many people come in their vacation clothes to go on an adventure. We can outfit you for any trip we offer. Please do not feel the need to go shopping in order to come on an adventure with AVA.
