Colordao Fly Fishing

Colorado Fly & Spin Fishing Vacation

The Arkansas & Colorado Rivers have hundreds of miles of floatable water in Colorado and boast some fantastic fly and spin fishing. You’ll find plenty of variety, with endless riffles, runs, pools, undercuts, and overhanging brush. Most of the catch will consist of brown trout, with an occasional rainbow or cutthroat trout. Each day is different, and to make for the best possible trip your guide often waits until the last minute to decide your best fishing location. Waders included on all trips. Fly rod and flies not included; both are available at the AVA Outpost. A Colorado fishing license is required.

Our Fly Fishing Guides are seasoned professionals, providing expert instruction and excellent angling opportunities. Our Fishing Guides exceed Colorado River guide requirements and have a lifetime of fishing experience. All anglers are welcome, from never-ever to advanced. We will cater to your needs, paying attention to detail, with finding fish in mind.

Get all of the necessary fishing instruction before stalking the fish. Our professional fishing guide will teach you the fun methods and techniques of casting, line management, trout habitat, entomology, fly selection, hooking, playing and landing fish. Then you will go wading and get some hands-on experience. Lunch included with full day trip. Two-person minimum.

Go for a full or half-day wade on the Arkansas River. Let our professional guide help you to hone in your skills as your ability progresses. Lunch included with full day trip. Two-person minimum.

Fly fish as you float down the Arkansas. Up to two people can float down the river on a raft rowed by your guide. Fly Fishing from the vantage of a raft is an unforgettable experience. Easy access to all the productive water, a better view of the fish, and the pure enjoyment of boating, combine to reward our guests with more than just trout. Hot riverside lunch is included.

You meet us at AVA, where your guide will discuss equipment and give an extensive safety talk. You then progress to fishing strategies including: casting, line management, trout habitat, entomology, fly selection, hooking, playing and landing fish.

• A Co. State fishing license is required and should be purchased in advance.
• All of your guided trip destinations are determined daily by your personal guide, depending on weather, hatch patterns and water levels. Many of our guides have their own secret spots where they like to fish, so sometimes we don’t know where you’ll be going until the last minute!
• Catch and release is practiced to ensure a healthy trout population for generations to come.
• Colorado’s weather conditions change frequently and rapidly so be prepared with your camera, water, hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and rain gear.
• To ensure availability of trips, we recommend booking as far in advance as possible. Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed.
