Arkansas River Rafting Trips

Posted in Whitewater Rafting Blog on Tuesday, April 19th, 2011 by dmama.

AVA’s Arkansas River Rafting Trips leave from our Granite Outpost, which is 14 miles north of Buena Vista and 19 miles south of Leadville. This central Colorado location is convenient to Breckenridge, Keystone, Copper Mountain, Aspen and Vail, so a stop at our Granite Outpost for an Arkansas River rafting trip is an easy addition to your itinerary.

The Arkansas River Rafting choices are numerous. You’ll find family rafting such as Brown’s Canyon rafting , advanced rafting like The Numbers rafting trips, and the most advanced Class V in Pine Creek rafting. AVA provides wetsuits and splash jackets free of charge on the Arkansas River trips that leave from our Granite Outpost. You can decide the day of your trip if the weather warrants their use.

The Granite Outpost is actually two separate properties. The first is a 4-acre property with a check-in lodge, large retail store, restrooms, changing rooms, three bunkhouse cabins and a campground. Our second, 43-acre property is 400 yards down the road, where we have our zipline course and zip line tours, rock climbing and Operations Management.
