Or step that up a notch with a family white water river rafting trip. Most of these trips are Class III whitewater trips. We offer family trips through Brown’s Canyon on the Arkansas River or on Clear Creek’s Beginner white water section. These adventures are tremendous fun for all ages and lifestyles. Rafting Colorado is easy to access from our Idaho Springs Outpost, just thirty miles west of Denver. The Intermediate white water vacation on Clear Creek requires a minimum age of 15 years old, as do our more advanced sections on the Arkansas River and on Gore Canyon on the Colorado River.

The kids were fearless, being already 9 and 11, and my husband was an experienced rafter but I felt panic stricken and really feared the experience. It was just the 4 of us and our guide in one raft and we had to learn to paddle together in order to succeed. This experience turned out to be the highlight of our week in Breckenridge, CO! I know that I have never done anything in my life that was as much fun. Our grandchildren are still telling everyone about their adventure.
