— Gratefully, Krista SolemI just wanted to let you know how wonderful your river guides are. I was on the Pine Creek and Numbers trip last Tuesday Aug 4. After a fun day on the river with John and Zack, I decided to do the Gore Canyon trip on Friday Aug 7. Rafting that day was an amazing experience but what I appreciate the most was the competency, skill, experience, patience and humor of my guides: Zack, John and Chris. Thank you for making the day a safe and incredible experience. I appreciate that you love what you do and are willing to share that passion with rest of us, who come along for the ride. Thank you.
AVA provides guided, half-day trips for the beginner or intermediate climber. Our guides will teach you the basics of belaying, rappelling and setting anchors. Whether you want to learn more about the sport so you can do it on your own or you just want to try it for the first time and experience the thrill of climbing, our programs are perfect for you.
We have half-day, morning and afternoon trips available
Our half-day climbing trip is a great way to follow an early morning raft trip down our Class IV or V sections of river. After you have changed into your dry clothes, we set out for our afternoon climbing and rappelling adventure. Or do it the other way around: climb in the morning and raft in the afternoon! It’s a full day of adventure! Climbing takes place only 4 miles north of AVA’s Granite Outpost on granite cliffs overlooking the Arkansas River. A Colorado experience not to be missed.
