What To Bring On Your Whitewater Rafting Trip
What does Arkansas Valley Adventures provide for my Colorado rafting trip?
Are you a first time rafter and a bit confused on what you will need to bring? Not a problem, here are some tips. Arkansas Valley Adventures provides helmets, life jackets, and paddles for all of our Colorado river rafting adventures. Arkansas Valley Adventures also provides wetsuits and paddle jackets FREE OF CHARGE if the weather warrants their use on any of our river rafting trips. Arkansas Valley Adventures does not provide footwear for rent or use for any of our river rafting trips, although we do sell water shoes in our retail shops. On overnight river rafting trips Arkansas Valley Adventures will provide dry bags, sleeping pads and tents. Sleeping bags are available for rent if you contact our office ahead of time.

What should I bring on my Colorado rafting trip?
Here is a list of things to consider bringing on a river rafting trip in a high alpine environment:
Day Rafting Trip
Quick drying swimsuit/shorts,
Hat or visor
Shoes that stay securely on your feet (tennis shoes, water shoes, or sports sandals) No flip-flops please.
Sunglasses with strap, sunscreen & lip protection
Water bottle, Money (for souvenirs, photographs & Guide Gratuity)
Overnight Rafting Trip
Extra shoes, warm jacket
Wool/warm hat, change of clothes
Raincoat, toiletries
Flashlight, personal liquor/soda (camp only)
Fishing gear, camp toys (Frisbee, cards, etc)
Plastic bags (wet clothes)
Note: On overnight trips, you will receive a detailed packing list
Is a wetsuit necessary for my Colorado rafting trip?
If you get cold easily, the weather looks like rain, or the water is high then wetsuits are recommended. Arkansas Valley Adventures provide them free of charge for all Colorado rafting trips.
Do you have equipment for rent for my rafting trip?
Arkansas Valley Adventures provides all of our equipment for rafting trips free of charge, EXCEPT FOR WATER SHOES. Most people come in their vacation clothes to go on an adventure. Arkansas Valley Adventures can outfit you for any rafting trip we offer. Please do not feel the need to go shopping in order to come on an adventure with Arkansas Valley Adventures.
Do I need to bring food for my Colorado rafting trip?
Arkansas Valley Adventures provides lunch for all of our full day Colorado rafting trips and all meals for overnight rafting trips. Lunch for most of Arkansas Valley Adventures Colorado rafting trips are our specialty Hot Chicken Fajitas. Overnight meals consist of hearty portions that will give you the energy needed for Arkansas Valley Adventures Colorado rafting trips.
Vegetarian?
Not a problem. Just let the office staff know while making your reservation for your Colorado rafting trip so we can accommodate your needs.
