Looking for a white water vacation in Colorado? Arkansas Valley Adventures offers the best white water vacations you can imagine, from shorter, 1/3-day trips to 3-day river excursions. Or combine multiple Colorado activities, such as rock climbing, hiking, fly fishing and horseback riding, with whitewater rafting to create the ultimate adventure vacation in Colorado.
AVA can provide white water vacations for families with children as young as 2 years old and 35 lbs on our Upper Colorado Scenic Float. AVA can step that up a notch with a Class III white water vacation for families with children 5 years old and 50 lbs and over. Our trips through Brown’s Canyon on the Arkansas River, or AVA’s Clear Creek Beginner white water vacations are tremendous fun for all ages and lifestyles. The beginner-level, Class III whitewater vacations provide the perfect amount of adventure to satisfy every vacationing family’s needs. Our Class III trips on the Arkansas River are defined by a drop-pool (a rapid or drop, then a pool of flat water) system that is great for all beginners on a white water vacation. Our Clear Creek Class III beginner trip is a great introduction to white water with continuous, splashy beginner rapids. You won’t be bored on either of these trips: they are active trips where everyone is participating by paddling through the rapids!
Are you an active group vacationing with teens? Try Arkansas Valley Adventures’ Intermediate and Advanced white water vacations. These Class IV and V trips are great for physically fit, active young adult and adult beginners. Thirty miles west of Denver is our Idaho Springs Outpost. The Intermediate white water vacation on Clear Creek requires a minimum age of 13. You must be at least 15 years old to run the northern sections on the Arkansas River and Gore Canyon on the Colorado River, such as The Numbers, Pine Creek and Gore Canyon.
On the Arkansas River, Arkansas Valley Adventures provides several different multi-day trips that are a white water vacation by themselves! For all ages and abilities, the 3-day Canyon Overnight trip is packed full of Class III whitewater fun, relaxing floating, delicious meals prepared for you by our guides, and pristine camping. Or for the ultimate adrenaline rush, sign up for the 3-day Mild to Wild white water vacation! Two days of Class III whitewater action (with a relaxing evening camping in a pristine granite canyon in between) are followed by an afternoon of rock climbing and a night of star-gazing at Colorado’s magnificent night sky. In the morning, rappel into Granite Gorge and meet your rafts before you run the most advanced white water on the Arkansas—The Gauntlet. Think you can handle something even more advanced for your white water vacation? Try Colorado’s Ultimate Advanced Class V white water vacation on the Colorado River called Gore Canyon. Gore Canyon is for the physically fit adventure thrill seekers, so be ready!
