Cabins
Looking for lodging before or after your family rafting trip and family adventures? Our five genuine log cabins are set along a creek and sleep four to five guests in each. We are located just south of Granite, Colorado on a four-acre parcel home to our Arkansas Valley Adventure Outpost. These rustic cabins are the perfect place to spend the night before or after your family rafting trip during your Colorado summer vacation. Each cabin is appointed with log furniture, quality mattresses, hard-wood floors, and a ¾ bath with shower. Three of the cabins have two double beds and kitchenettes with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot, and toaster (these sleep four people). The other two cabins have two double beds and a single bed (these sleep five people). Picnic tables, charcoal grills and a large fire pit are all available for you while you enjoy an evening under the bright Colorado stars.
Log cabins are $85 for double occupancy (Per Night) and $5 per additional person up to 5 people (Per Night).
Camping
In addition to family rafting fun we offer ten walk-in campsites at our outpost. These sites are not vehicle-accessible, but the trail to the sites is less than 50 yards. These campsites have access to hot showers and toilet facilities. There are picnic tables and designated fire pits. Each site is nestled on a hillside with flat sand foundations for your tent. Firewood is not included.
Walk in campsites are $25 per site (per night) and can generally accommodate two small tents or one large tent (about 4-5 people).
Family Rafting Trips
Bring your Colorado summer vacation up a notch with a family rafting trip on the Arkansas River. Families come in all different variations and we have a trip to fit each one. Brown’s Canyon is a family rafting experience for children as young as five years old and adults of any age. This trip includes calm pools that you just float through and roller coaster style rapids for the young at heart!
Interested in stepping it up a notch? The next level up are Class IV and V family rafting trips for teens from 15 years old and up. These trips are also on the Arkansas River, but they run on the northern sections, Pine Creek and the Numbers. These trips are for the more adventurous and are more physically demanding. If you want something more challenging and heart pumping, then a Class IV and V family rafting trip is for you.
Crank up your family rafting vacation by adding a half day rock climb with our experienced instructors teaching you the basics of this exciting sport. And, for the ultimate adventure, show the kids what you’re made of by rappelling down a 75’ drop to the put-in for our Pine Creek family rafting experience!
After a family rafting trip on the Arkansas River, take advantage of everything else the Arkansas Valley has to offer. While in the area the family can enjoy hiking one of Colorado’s many fourteeners, spend an evening on a sunset horseback riding venture, or learn to fly-fish. Whether you’re on a family rafting trip or scaling a rock wall, Arkansas Valley Adventures has something for every member of the family.
