Looking for whitewater rafting in the northern part of Colorado? The Cache la Poudre River (hint: Poudre rhymes with scooter) offers unspoiled wilderness and exciting whitewater. Named by French trappers in the 1820’s, Colorado’s only designated National Wild and Scenic River continues to feel untouched by civilization, and a raft is the perfect way to experience it!  The Lower Poudre is a great summer adventure for families staying in northern Colorado.  Quick-moving Class II-III rapids with names like Pinball and Roller Coaster provide a thrill for children and adults.  It’s the perfect trip for first time rafters looking to get their feet wet, but even experienced paddlers will appreciate this unique and beautiful river.  As you splash through this pristine stretch of Roosevelt National Forest, keep an eye out for abundant wildlife, including deer, bighorn sheep, and various species of birds.

Hoping to see even more classic Colorado scenery?  Rocky Mountain National Park is just up the road.  With stunning mountain vistas, delicate waterfalls, and abundant wildlife, the park is a can’t-miss experience.  Take the Trail Ridge Rd up to over 12,000 feet of elevation or explore some of the hundreds of miles of hiking trails.

Seeking a little civilization after your time on the river?  Fort Collins offers plenty of great restaurants, shopping and events, and it’s just a few minutes’ drive from our office.  Old Town is on the National Register of Historic Places and has various guided tours and museums.  Check out the multiple botanical gardens near Colorado State University.
