The Browns Canyon section of the Arkansas River is one of the most rafted sections of whitewater in the country. Browns Canyon has long been known for its jaw-dropping scenery and continuous Class III rapids. Nestled within breath taking 14,000 foot peaks, Browns Canyon has something to offer for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a full day, half day or and overnight adventure, Arkansas Valley Adventures has it all.
As August heats up and we approach the end of the rafting season, Browns Canyon is still a great option if you are looking for some whitewater rafting. AVA offers several different trips on this section of the river. For instance, The Browns Canyon Half Day trip is a great option for anyone looking for a fun experience that will last between 3 and 4 hours. These trips depart at 8:30 am and 1:30 in the afternoon and can also be purchased with a lunch.
Another great option is the Browns Canyon Express (BCX), which is classified as a ¾ day trip and rafts a section of the Browns stretching 18 miles. The BCX spends about 5 hours on the water and departs at 12 pm and can also be purchased with a lunch. We also offer ziplining from our Granite outpost which is an exciting activity to add to BCX for a little extra fun. If you are looking for a full day adventure, The Browns Canyon Sizzler is our best all day family fun trip. It departs at 9:30 am every day and includes a chicken fajita lunch on the river.
If you are looking to spend even more time on the river, the 24 Hours in Browns is another great trip. 24 hours in Browns departs at 12:30 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. You get to spend the night under the stars at a beautiful camp site along the river. The trip includes dinner as well as breakfast the next morning. This trip is great options if you are looking for a little more time to enjoy the beautiful scenery that Buena Vista has to offer.
