One of Colorado’s most exciting, unique mountain experiences returns this 2016 summer. The GoPro Mountain Games will take place Thursday, June 9 through Sunday, June 12 in the valley of Vail, CO and promises to bring entertainment, excitement, and celebration to all who take part. Both local competitors and athletes from around the world will come together to compete in nine sports and 25 various disciplines.
Outdoor enthusiasts can watch their favorite adrenaline junkies risk it all in events such as kayaking, raft cross, World Cup bouldering, surf cross, mud running, road cycling, and, of course, big air dog jumping. Outdoor amateurs wanting a mellower approach can participate in mountain photography competition, adventure film school, the interactive exhibition, and live music. Kids can check out Adventure Village where they will learn the basics of kayaking and rock climbing. Visitors can enter drawings, giveaways and raffles in the Adventure Village. Much of the proceeds will go to the Vail Valley Foundation which helps support local athletes and artists in the Eagle County area, so be sure to try your luck.
