The first weekend in September marks the last holiday of the summer season. Labor Day is around the corner and is a great excuse to go and enjoy the outdoors and warm weather while you still can. There are plenty of activities around Summit County that offer something for people of all ages to participate in this weekend.
- SALE! SALE! SALE! – This is what you will see if walking along any Main St. in any Colorado town this time of year. Winter is around the corner so all the winter gear that did not sell last year and is currently taking up space in retail stores will be heavily discounted. Not only that, but all current summer attire will be marked down to make room for the new winter shipments. Make sure to visit a sidewalk sale to get the latest and greatest deals.
- Last weekend for RAFTING! – AVA is still offering full day, half day and rafting/zipline packages until September 2nd out of Granite and Kremmling. Check out our amazing late season discounts here. Also, we will be ziplining out of Idaho Springs until November!
- The Great Rubber Duck Races – Who would have thought that throwing 10,000 little rubber ducks would be an enjoyable afternoon activity? Well, it is quite amusing, not to mention worthwhile. If you decide to enter the race by adopting a duck, there are thousands of dollars in prizes available for the first 50 ducks. Come and enjoy the fun and the sea of yellow along the Blue River on August 31st, 2013.
- The Breckenridge PRCA Pro Rodeo – Come and enjoy the last weekend of the Rodeo in Breckenridge. Check out the bull riding, barrel racing, cowboy barbecue, and even Behind the Chutes rodeo tours.
Whatever your intention is this Labor Day weekend, make sure to get outside and don’t forget your rain coat just in case!
