September is an exciting time in Colorful Colorado. While Colorado is not particularly known for its fall season there is still plenty to do. Do not let the term shoulder season fool you; here are some events to get you excited for a September in Colorado.
Colorado Distillers Festival- Colorado is well known for its many microbreweries but it also has a significant amount of micro distilleries. This year marks the third anniversary of the Colorado Distillers Festival. Located in Denver on September 8th, come out and see a great showcase of what the Colorado Distiller’s Guild has to offer. Custom cocktails and spirits and industry demonstrations will make this afternoon a great experience.
Autumn Gold– Autumn Gold describes itself as a festival of bands, brats, and beers. Mmm, that sounds yummy. Come to Estes Park September 21-22 for cold beers, hot bratwurst, and great local live music. The always popular raffle returns this year with the grand prize winner taking home a cool $5,000. Proceeds benefit the Sunrise Rotary Club.
Salida Colorado Bikefest- Brand new this year is the Salida Colorado Bikefest. This a five day celebration of all things bicycles starting September 11th. The Bikefest will consist of many events including a chainless bike race, group rides, a bike parade, and a bike film festival. Free live music will also be available at the Steam Plant and Riverside Park.
Tour De Fat- Colorado-based New Belgium Brewing, makers of Fat Tire beer, are bringing the Tour De Fat to Denver September 7th. This colorful celebration of bikes and beers starts off with a bike tour through Denver designed for riders of all ability levels. Stay for the after party which will offer tons of free entertainment from live bands, comedians, and more! The event is free with all proceeds going to local nonprofits bicycle shops. As always colorful costumes are encouraged!
