When visiting Colorado over the summer months, there seems to be an endless number of thing to see, places to go and activities to partake in. Whitewater rafting season always tends to be one of the bigger Colorado activities to enjoy in over the warm rainy summer months. This whitewater season with AVA offered amazing water conditions and big water flows. This year's 2015 season offered some of the highest flows the state of Colorado has seen in the past 15 years! We at Arkansas Valley Adventures want to thank everyone for a great season!
This year's epic water flows provided some of the best rafting Colorado has ever seen. With high water levels on the Arkansas River reaching past 3,000 cfs and Clear Creek above 1,350 cfs, this year was truly idyllic. On the Arkansas River we were able to offer our Whitewater Marathon for an unprecedented three weeks long, the longest we have ever been able to offer the trip! Our Kremmling location offered amazing scenic family floats all season long where guests were able to see osprey, golden eagles, bald eagles and river otters. Idaho Springs outpost saw a newly improved zipline course with the new 50ft free fall feature that left your hands shaking and adrenaline pumping. As a cherry on top of the season our Class V Gore Canyon trip experienced excellent flows in August providing advanced rafters with a very wet and wild whitewater trip.
Don’t worry if you have not had a chance to make it whitewater rafting this season as we will have our scenic upper colorado float trips available through the end of October. For those looking into trips next year, look no further than our Brown's Canyon beginner trips or three-day Mild to Wild advanced excursion. We are currently taking reservations for our 2016 whitewater season so feel free to give us a call and find out what trip best suits you and your group.
