Explore Colorado
With an AVA adventure, your scout group will learn new skills and put into practice the lessons they have already learned. Our three locations in Colorado and rafting throughout the state offer the chance for your scout group to be immersed in the wilderness; this is the perfect setting to discuss wilderness survival, first aid, preservation, campfire building, and more as your troop builds memories. Opportunities for learning on an AVA guided adventure:

One of the favorite Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troop adventures is our 24 Hours in Browns Canyon overnight rafting trip, which combines camping with whitewater rafting to put knowledge of the outdoors into practice. Our overnight trips through Browns Canyon can be the perfect way for your Boy Scout or Girl Scout group to learn more about the natural world around them.

Let AVA’s Buena Vista Outpost be your base camp as you and your scout troop immerse yourselves in the serenity of the pristine wilderness, 14,000 foot mountains, amazing hiking trails, and sweeping vistas. We can also make it easy for you by providing bunk houses and meals in the heart of the Arkansas River Valley. Not only will you be in the perfect location for whitewater, climbing, hiking, fishing, and more; we’ll provide your rafting gear and climbing gear. Plus, we’ll be happy to assist in planning hikes and fishing excursions!
