Looking for a river trip that’s more mild than wild – but still a blast?! There are lots of float trips, beginner whitewater rafting trips and family friendly trips to choose from to experience the scenery and fun of a true Colorado river trip. AVA offers beginner rafting trips on multiple rivers across Colorado.
RAFTING: THE BEST SUMMER ACTIVITY
There’s a reason that rafting trips are one of the most popular summer activities in Colorado. Not only do you get to see unique spots in Colorado accessible only by river, but you don’t need any previous river experience to try it!
BEGINNER RAFTING TRIPS
Perhaps you’re not completely comfortable in the water. Maybe you have small children and are wondering what trip is appropriate. Or you’ve just never been rafting before and want to make sure you have a great time.
In our book, any time spent on a river is pure bliss. If you’re nervous about picking the right experience, our staff would love to talk to you to help you plan your trip.
THE UPPER COLORADO FLOAT TRIP
Our most mellow river trip is on the famous Upper Colorado River near Kremmling. This section offers inspring scenery, abundant wildlife (a favorite habitat for bald eagles!) and splashy waves. We take kids as young as 3 years old on this trip.
More adventurous adults and older kids can paddle an inflatable kayak or a Stand Up Paddleboard along with a trip on the Upper Colorado.
CLEAR CREEK AND BROWNS CANYON
Introductory whitewater trips like the Clear Creek Gold Rush beginner rafting trip offers just enough wet and wild excitement but is still appropriate for age 6+. Our Browns Canyon trips on the Arkansas River offer excitement to both experienced rafters and never-evers. These trips are great first-time whitewater adventures for adults and kids 7+.
