Best Fall Red Rocks Shows

Red Rocks is one of the most well-known concert venues in the United States, up there with the likes of Madison Square Garden, Radio City Music Hall, and the Fitzgerald Theater. The unique naturally formed seating and acoustics provide an unforgettable experience for guests. Autumn is one of the best times to go to a show here, as the summer heat subsides and temperatures regulate to a perfect medium for concert goers to focus on the music and enjoy the show. This fall’s lineup is highlighted by the inclusion of The Gorillaz, Big Gigantic, Weezer, and Deadmau5.

The Gorillaz – 9/26

From their first hit album, Demon Days, to their most recent and highly anticipated release this summer, Humanz, The Gorillaz are a hugely popular group and supposedly incredible live. The Gorillaz are actually a crew of animated characters created by Jamie Hewlett, and the music is created by Damon Albarn. They are known for their unique mixture of rap, pop, and electronic music ending in a funky blend that can really get a crowd moving. This fall the group is performing with rapper Vince Staples, who was heavily featured in their new album. This means this a cannot miss concert for Gorillaz fans, and a really special treat for those new to the group.

Big Gigantic – 9/29 & 9/30

Big Gigantic, a band native to Colorado out of Boulder, will hit the stage in less than two weeks.  Their blend of dubstep, funk, and jazz has resulted in many popular hits and they are guaranteed to get Red Rocks fired up.  Big Gigantic, known to most fans as Big G, was the first mainstream dubstep group to successfully introduce saxophone to the genre and has created a new vibe for this style of music.  Their most recent album was released in August of 2016, called Brighter Future and featured the likes of Waka Flaka Flame, Logic, and Griz.  Big Gigantic will be performing two nights, for a double header, on a Friday and immediately after on a Saturday night. The first night they will be accompanied by Keys and Krates, another popular EDM group, and Pell, a rapper who was featured in their most recent album (Will they perform together? Hopefully!). The second night Big G will be accompanied by Big Wild, which includes one of the members of hit group ODESZA and should make for an excellent opener for another wild night.  If you are ready to dance under the stars at one of the best amphitheaters in the U.S., scratch off any plans you previously had for the last week of September.

Deadmau5 – 10/19 & 10/20

Deadmau5 was one of the original dubstep groups to break into mainstream music and has been popular ever since their hit song Ghosts n Stuff came out in 2008. After taking a brief hiatus from 2015 to 2016 due to his depression, Deadmau5 is back on tour and making hits. This is another double header show that is sure to get the crowd moving!

No worries if these artists don’t appeal to your taste in music, Red Rocks hosts a wide variety of entertainment and activities.  Check out their schedule here!
