Colorado summers aren’t just a great time for adventure enthusiasts, but also a great time to check out the fantastic seasonal beers from the various local craft breweries. Here at AVA, we love ending a day of rafting and zip lining with a nice cold one. We have compiled a list of some of our favorite summer beers from Colorado breweries.
DRY DOCK BREWING CO. APRICOT BLONDE | 5.3% ABV
The Apricot Blonde from Dry Dock is a light crisp beer with a hint of, get this, apricot flavor. This beer comes in cans, making it the perfect drink to pack for that camping trip or lunch on the river!
UPSLOPE BREWING COMPANY BELGIAN STYLE PALE ALE | 7.5% ABV
This Belgian style ale is refreshingly sweet but deceptively strong. It is the perfect pale ale to cool off with after a day in the hot sun.
TOMMY KNOCKER BREWERY PALISADE PEACHWOOD CREAM ALE | 4.5% ABV
This tasty treat will please your tastebuds with its strong peach taste and light body. The Palisade Peachwood Cream Ale is actually aged on Palisade Peach wood! Best enjoyed with one of Tommyknocker’s delicious burgers after a day out on Clear Creek with AVA Rafting & Zipline!
AVERY BREWING COMPANY WHITE RASCAL | 5.6% ABV
The White Rascal, often compared to Blue Moon, features savory orange notes mixing with coriander to create a perfect beer to sip while watching the sun go down. Slice up some fresh orange slices to enjoy in your pint.
OSKAR BLUES BREWERY DALE’S PALE ALE | 6.5% ABV
This is not a beer to drink lightly, as it has amassed somehwat of a cult following from many locals. It is light and crisp with good hoppy flavor. A great beer to enjoy with your feet kicked up as the sun goes down.
LEFT HAND BREWING GOOD JUJU | 4.5% ABV
The Good JuJu from Left Hand Brewing is a very unique beer with hints of ginger and just a drop of orange. It is a heavier beer to drink, but delicious nonetheless!
NEW BELGIUM BREWING COMPANY MOTHERSHIP WIT | 4.8% ABV
This is a beer that is both equally hoppy and malty. It can come off as a bit sour, but is balanced out with fruit tones. Overall the Mothership Wit is a great way to cool off on a summer evening!
FUNKWERKS RASPBERRY PROVINCIA | 4.2% ABV
The perfect combination of sour and sweet, the Raspberry Provincia may be a little off putting by name, but it is delicious and worth giving a try.
