Are you looking for some new day adventures while in Denver, Colorado?  You don’t have to break the bank to have a good time around the big city.  Denver and it’s surrounding areas have endless fun possibilities to spend your day, check them out!

Denver B Cycle

If you want to stay in the city, think about taking a bike ride. The city has the “Denver B Cycle” that is a public bike sharing system. With over 80 bike stations scattered among the streets, people are welcome to check out a bike anytime between 5 am and midnight. With a quick swipe of your credit card, a bike is now in your hands and you are free to ride anywhere around. You can pick up and drop off the bike at any of the B Cycle stations.  This also provides perfect transportation to some of our other ideas of how to spend the day!

Ace Eat Serve

Make a pit stop at Ace Eat Serve. Located in North Capitol Hill, Ace Eat Serve whips up “Asian inspired dishes conducive to sharing, drinking, and hanging out”.  However, it’s not only the great food and drinks that make this place awesome… it’s the pong room. Behind the main bar and dining area is a huge room with multiple ping pong tables. Rent some paddles and a bucket of balls and have at it with your friends.  Fear not, you never have to chase down a rouge ball, as staff will walk around with brooms and sweep up all your bad shots!

Denver Museums

Another great option is one of Denver’s many museums. The city is full of museums that can expand your knowledge and understanding of the world!  The Denver Museum of Nature & Sciences and the Denver Museum of Art are two of the more popular options, but there are many other more specific options that may appeal to some of your interest, such as the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls and Toys.

Parks

Denver has many parks throughout the city that are great for hanging out and enjoying the 300 plus days of sunshine.  One of the coolest parks is Confluence Park. Located in lower downtown (LoDo) and encompasses the confluence of Cherry Creek and the South Platte River.  Take a walk down one of their trails and cross over the river for some great city views, or watch people shred in the park’s skate park. The coolest feature is the kayak run built into river were kayakers can get a quick adrenaline fix without leaving the city!

Get Out of the City

If you feel you want to avoid the hustle and bustle and get into nature for the day, there are tons of great options that are just short drives from Denver. Rocky Mountain National Park is just a couple hours from the city and even closer are the flatirons in Boulder.  If you’re looking for some excitement, head west towards Idaho Springs to AVA Rafting and Ziplining.  Located just 30 minutes west of Denver, you have the option of whitewater rafting from class III to class V, take a trip on the cliffside zipline course, or climb high on the Via Ferrata!  Which ever activity you choose, you are sure to make long lasting memories.

If you’re sitting and Denver with a free day and can’t think of anything to do, try one of these activities to ensure an amazing day.
