What to Expect on Your Whitewater Rafting + Biking Adventure
A Full Day of Excitement
The morning belongs to the Colorado River. Launching at 8:30 AM, your guide will lead you down the Fisher Towers half-day stretch — a celebrated section of river known for its Class II–III rapids, soaring red-rock canyon walls, and incredible desert wildlife. This is whitewater rafting at its most scenic, and it’s appropriate for nearly all ages and ability levels.
Once you’re back on dry land, the afternoon shifts to two wheels. Starting at 3:00 PM, choose from our full fleet of Moab e-bikes — including the powerful Full Suspension ALLMT-3 for trail riders or the Copperhead EVO endurance e-bike for those wanting to cover serious distance.
Unparalleled Scenery
Moab is one of the most visually spectacular places in the United States, and this trip puts you at the center of it from sunrise to sunset. On the river, you’ll float beneath the iconic Fisher Towers — ancient red-rock spires that rise 900 feet from the canyon floor. Keep your eyes on the canyon walls and you might spot desert bighorn sheep, or even a mountain lion making its way across the ledges above.
Come evening, the e-bike portion opens up a completely different angle on the landscape. The paved paths toward Arches National Park offer jaw-dropping views at golden hour, and the trails through Canyonlands are unmatched for dramatic desert riding. Check out AVA’s guide to the best of Moab for even more ideas on where to explore after your ride.

FAQs
The rafting portion begins at 8:30 AM at the AVA Moab outpost. The Fisher Towers half-day raft trip runs through late morning and wraps up in time to return around 3:00 PM, when e-bikes become available. The total package is approximately 12 hours. We recommend arriving 15–20 minutes before the 8:30 AM launch time.
It depends on your plans! If you want to cruise into Arches National Park, ride the paved bike path, or just cover serious ground in the evening, the Copperhead EVO endurance e-bike is built for exactly that — up to 50 miles of range and great uphill performance. If you’re planning to hit singletrack or bike park trails like the Bar-M loop, go with the Full Suspension ALLMT-3. Not sure? Our team can help you choose when you arrive. You can also browse all four options on our e-bike selection page.
Yes! The minimum age for the rafting portion is 2 years old and 30 lbs, which makes this one of the most family-friendly raft-and-ride packages in Moab. Youth pricing applies for ages 2–12. The Fisher Towers stretch is classified Class II–III — exciting but manageable for mixed-age groups. For questions about specific family situations, see our full FAQ page or reach out to the AVA team.
None required for either activity. Your AVA river guide will cover all the basics before you hit the water, and our e-bikes are designed to be intuitive for riders of all experience levels. Whether it’s your first time in a raft or your first time on an e-bike, you’ll be in good hands. For more on what to expect, visit our What to Expect page.
Cancellation policies vary by booking date and optional add-ons selected at checkout (including trip protection). Full details will be shown during the booking process on the reservations page. If you have questions, contact the AVA team directly or visit our Manage My Booking page.
The Beat the Heat package is a summer-focused experience, designed for Moab’s warm season when the Colorado River is running and the evenings beg to be explored on two wheels.
