Though you’re just 30 minutes west of the Denver area for AVA’s Upper Clear Creek 1/2 Day rafting trip, you won’t want to be scurrying around the busy city the day of your adventure for last minute gear. Take a look at the lists we provide for suggestions on what to bring for this trip, but don’t worry about splash jackets or wetsuits – AVA Rafting & Zipline offers them to guests for no extra charge.
We had two families, total of 10 people with 6 kids and two of them being 5 years old. The trip was perfect - 1-2 hours for us. The guides Luke, Eric, and Terry were absolute pros and did a wonderful job. We had a bus ride to the launch point (about 25min) and a bus ride back (about 35min), but the trip was filled with our guides talking about the area and giving history of Colorado... it was fascinating. The rapids were perfect for our families with young kids... just enough excitement, but very safe. We had a great time and would recommend this to anyone traveling to Breckenridge.
Wife and I really enjoyed our first time rafting. Our guide was Liam and he was awesome! We did the Upper Clear Creek and the water was cold but manageable. The wetsuit and splash guards really help. You can purchase photos and have them sent to your phone and/or email. We got two for $35 and will be printing them when we get home. Their outpost at Idaho Springs has plenty of merch and the staff was very helpful. We will be booking another adventure soon!
