Numbers/Narrows TripNow that the early year holidays are behind us and the weather is beginning to get a little bit warmer, it’s time to start preparing for this years’ upcoming whitewater season. Regardless if this is your 10th season you are preparing for or your first trip eve,r you do not want to hesitate. For those unacquainted with the rivers and creeks in Colorado, you do not want to miss out on rafting the Arkansas River. The Arkansas River offers commercial trips at all skill levels with ratings ranging between class II- V, giving just about any visitor the exact experience they are looking forward to.

My personal favorite trip on the Arkansas River is our Numbers/ Narrows trip, as it incorporates class III, IV and V rapids all into one amazing full day trip. The morning kicks off in the Numbers section which will incorporate all class rapids (I-V) over the course of an 11 mile stretch of whitewater. Following the Numbers section we will pull over riverside for a hot fajita lunch prepared by the guide staff. Be careful not to eat too much, as we will jump into the class III Narrows section immediately after lunch. The Narrows is an absolutely stunning section of whitewater where it is not uncommon to see bighorn sheep, elk and many more fuzzy critters. There is also a little cliff Numbers/Narrows Tripjumping area to stop by if the water levels allow. After completing the trip and arriving back to the outpost, don’t forget to check out the photo stream to see some excellent photos from the water.

If the Numbers/ Narrows looks a bit to extreme, don’t worry as our Browns Canyon will be more your pace. If you were looking for an solid class V trip, check out our Pine Creek trip, as it is sure to bring the thrill and adventure you are look for.
