We would suggest that kids 7 and over can go out on a day hike. Those younger than that would be great in a hiking pack! Overnight hikes and camping would be best suited for children 10 and over, unless they have prior experience. Be sure to understand the elements of Colorado's backcountry before venturing out! Kids as young as 2 can go rafting on the upper Colorado river just 40 minutes from RMNP.
