One such town is Buena Vista, CO. This small mountain town is located in the Upper Arkansas River Valley and has tremendous views of the Collegiate Peaks. This area is referred to as the “Banana Belt” due to the mild winters and many days of sunshine each year. If you’re a fan of whitewater rafting this is where to be. The Browns Canyon section is one of the most rafted sections on the Arkansas and offers views of large granite walls and beautiful rock formations! Another interesting town not to far from Denver is Idaho Springs. This small town is located right alongside Interstate 70. A stroll along Main Street offers plenty of shopping and restaurant options. Be sure to check out Tommyknocker Brewery and Pub to try one of their craft beers. If beer is not for you they also have a variety of craft soda! If you're looking for some adventure and you're not afraid of heights, try zip lining. AVA's outpost in Idaho Springs offers a cliffside zip line and aerial tour as well as a starlight zip line adventure!
