Fortunately, you can traverse the whole Ten Mile Range in the summer! Starting at Mt. Royal in Frisco, then rapidly ascending to Mt. Victoria than on to Peak 1 where the real fun begins! Mohawk Lakes, located right outside of Breckenridge is 6.8 mile hike that winds through the forest before ascending a quick ridge line to where you come across two high alpine lakes. Boarded by steep granite peaks makes this a stunning backdrop for these crystal blue alpine lakes.

Another great hike in the Breckenridge area is right up on Boreas Mountain. Mirroring the Ten Mile Range is Boreas and Bald Mountain. Both mountains are above 13,000ft elevation. For those looking to hike above tree line, but not exert too much effort the Boreas Mountain trail is a great option. Just a 3 mile out and back, you hike above tree line and are awarded stunning views of the town and Breckenridge Ski Resort.
