Whitewater Rafting with Kids

There isn't anything quite like a whitewater rafting trip that will bring the whole family together. Whether you are looking to take your 3 year old on their first river experience or your recent college graduate on an adrenaline filled class V trip we at AVA can help!

If your family falls on the younger side, we would suggest our Upper Colorado location in Kremmling. From this outpost we run scenic float trips, standup paddle boarding and inflatable kayak trips. Each of these trips take you along a beautiful canyon where Bald Eagles and Big Horn sheep are spotted frequently. Also, along the river we take a moment out of our float to jump off a 30 foot cliff with an option of a smaller five foot ledge.

For those families looking for a bit more of an adventure we would recommend our beginner or intermediate rafting trips. We have several outposts that accommodate these trips. Our Idaho Springs outpost located along Clear Creek just 30 minutes outside of Denver is one our most popular locations. Along the river you will find old mine ruins, beautiful mountain views and awesome raft guides! With trips ranging from beginner through advanced you are certain to find something for you and yours.

If you are looking for a more remote area and true taste of Colorado we recommend our Buena Vista location. On the Arkansas River you will find a variety of trips, beginner through advanced. Our beginner section runs in the historic Browns Canyon and is one of the most popular sections of river to raft with families in America! If you are feeling a bit more daring and really want that adrenaline kick try The Gauntlet. This full day advanced trip will leave you wet, amped and wanting more!
